Jürgen May

Jürgen Mai (born March 6, 1951 in Berlin ) is a German actor and director .

Life

Mai completed an apprenticeship as a diesel locomotive fitter and studied from 1973 to 1977 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Afterwards he was engaged in engagements at the Theater Magdeburg , the Landestheater Halle, the TV Theater Moritzburg , the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Theater Bremen, Theater Basel, Grenzlandtheater Aachen , Schauspielhaus Stuttgart u. a.

He can be seen in numerous film, television and theater roles , including the series Coast Guard , Soko Wismar , Our Charly , Tatort , Maddin in Love , Doppelter Einsatz and Balko .

From 2003 to 2010 Mai was artistic director of the private theater Komödie Dresden , 2010 to 2011 artistic director of the restructured and slightly renamed Comödie Dresden . Here he played in almost 20 roles, e.g. B. "Die Hexe Baba Jaga" in several parts, "Der nackte Wahnsinn", "Pension Schöller", and was also active as a director, z. B. "Socialism in its course ...", "Bergkristall vacation home".

From 2012 to 2015 he played the role of Grandpa Max in 32 episodes on ZDF at TerraMaX.

He lives in Berlin-Müggelheim and is married to the actress Ulrike Mai . From his relationship with actress Sabine Scholze, he has two daughters Caroline Scholze and Theresa Scholze , who are also actresses.
