Jack Grinnage

Jack Eugene Grinnage (born January 20, 1931 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor who has been in the film business since 1954. He became famous in 1955 for the role of Moose in ... because they don't know what they are doing .

Life

Jack Eugene Grinnage was born in Los Angeles, California in 1931. The then 23-year-old got his first small role in 1954 in an episode of the sitcom Father is the Best with Robert Young . 1955 followed a small supporting role in Interrupted Melody . That same year, Grinnage got the role of youthful gang member Moose in ... because they don't know what they're doing alongside James Dean , who made him known as an actor.

In the following years, Jack Grinnage limited himself mainly to minor supporting roles, including 1958 in the film drama My Life is the Rhythm with Elvis Presley in the leading role and in 1960 in Spartacus with Kirk Douglas . There were also other appearances in television series, including 1961 in an episode of Twilight Zone . That same year, Grinnage appeared in The Billy Barnes People on New York's Broadway . 1974-1975 Jack Grinnage played the role of the reporter Ron Updyke , the opponent of by Darren McGavin embodied Carl Kolchak , in the television series Kolchak: The Night Stalker . Originally, Grinnage's character was only supposed to have a single appearance, but then became part of the regular cast due to his popularity.

His later appearances include makeshift janitor Marvell in two episodes of Scrubs in 2009. In the fall of 2018, he appeared on the comedy series The Kids Are Alright alongside Mary McCormack .
