Jacqueline Ruth "Jacki" Weaver (born May 25, 1947 in Hurstville ) is an Australian actress . She was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress in 2011 and 2013 .

Life

Weaver starred in numerous movies, TV productions, and theatrical productions since the 1970s. For her role as Anna in the movie Stork by Tim Burstall, she received the 1971 Australian Film Institute Award for best female lead. 1976 followed an award for best supporting actress in the film Caddy by Donald Crombie.

Weaver achieved greater international fame in 2010 for her role as Janine Cody in the film Kingdom of Crime by David Michôd . She received numerous prizes for this, including another award from the Australian Film Institute as best actress and u. a. the National Board of Review Award , the LAFCA Award, and the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition, there was a double-digit number of nominations for various American film awards, including nominations in the category Best Supporting Actress at the most important film prizes Oscar , Golden Globe and BFCA Award .

In 2012, Weaver played the parents of leading actor Bradley Cooper in the film Silver Linings together with Robert De Niro . For this role she was again nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Supporting Actress.
