Jacob City is a city in Jackson County in the US state of Florida with 250 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Jacob City is about 20 km northwest of Marianna and about 130 km northwest of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 250 inhabitants were distributed over 209 households. The population density was 31.3 inh / km². 6.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 90.4% as African American and 0.4% as Indians . 2.4% said they belonged to several ethnic groups.

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 36.5% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 30.2% of all households. 68.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.60 people and the average family size was 3.23 people.

29.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 44.8% of the population were male and 55.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 24,375, with 42.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.

Bigger streets do not lead through the city. The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located about 90 km south of the city.
