Greenwood is a city in Jackson County in the US state of Florida with 686 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Greenwood is about 10 km north of Marianna and about 100 km northwest of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 686 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 322 households. The population density was 55.3 inh / km². 66.6% of the population identified themselves as white, 30.9% as African American and 0.4% as Native American . 1.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 2.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 31.8% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 31.8% of all households. 69.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.45 people and the average family size was 2.91 people.

26.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 26.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 48.8% of the population were male and 51.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 35,357, with 9.1% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 98.78% of the population and 1.22% spoke Spanish .
