Malone is a city in Jackson County in the US state Florida with 2,088 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Malone is about 20 km north of Marianna and about 120 km northwest of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 2088 inhabitants were distributed over 347 households. The population density was 257.8 inh / km². 46.9% of the population identified themselves as whites , 45.2% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 1.5% as Asian Americans . 3.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 12.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 27.2% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 35.5% of all households. 61.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.35 people and the average family size was 3.00 people.

9.5% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 45.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 10.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 83.4% of the population were male and 16.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 30,721, with 24.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
