Jacob Ludwig Römer (born March 26, 1770 in Einbeck , † November 23, 1855 in Braunschweig ) was a German teacher , ducal-Braunschweig government official, poet and writer .

Life

Jacob Ludwig Römer was born the son of an organist . He attended high school in Wolfenbüttel and from 1789 studied theology and philology at the University of Helmstedt . In 1793 he became a high school teacher at the Katharineum in Braunschweig. 1814 Duke named him Friedrich Wilhelm to the Cabinet and 1815 consistory . He was also a consultant for the higher education system. In 1838 Römer retired and became a member of the “Ministerial Commission for the Collection of Older Regulations from the State”. Römer wrote a biographical work on Duke Friedrich Wilhelm, known as the "Black Duke", as well as celebratory poems on social occasions in German, some also in Latin.

Roman's daughter Julie had been married to Karl Philipp Christian Schönemann since July 13, 1851 .
