The hunting bomb Air Wing 77 (LBG-77) " Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher " was a flying unit in regiment strength of the NVA-air force in direct subordination of the u front guide member. Military transport air forces .
assignment
The JBG-77 had the mission to combat ground targets and for aerial reconnaissance . In addition to Jagdbombenfliegergeschwader 37 , it was one of two airborne units of the LSK / LV, which were intended to support the two so-called military districts of the NVA land forces , which would have been reclassified into armies during the war.
history
In order to meet the demands of the United High Command of the Warsaw Pact Armed Forces for a strengthening of the air support capabilities of the land forces, the National People's Army established the Fighter Bombing Squadron 77 in Laage at the end of 1984. The association was equipped with the Sukhoi Su-22 weapon system . It was subordinated to the commanding body front and military transport air forces (FO FMTFK) . This submission was a peace structure to ensure flight training as well as material and technical security. With the triggering of corresponding levels of higher combat readiness , the JBG-77 was intended and ordered for operational subordination to the commander of the Soviet 16th Air Army . The squadron was assigned the Aviation Technical Battalion 77 (FTB-77), the Information and Air Traffic Control Battalion 77 (NFB-77) and the Oxygen Recovery and Supply Unit 77 (SGVE-77).
The JBG-77 received its traditional name "Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher" in February 1987.
Before reunification, September 27, 1990 was the last flight day of the squadron, on which the planes were no longer allowed to take off, but only to "taxi". On December 31, 1990, the association was dissolved by the Bundeswehr.
