Jakow Abramowitsch Kornfeld
Jakow Abramowitsch Kornfeld , born Jakow Chaim-Abramowitsch Korenfeld , ( Russian Яков Абрамович Корнфельд ; * February 12th July / February 24th 1896 greg. In Berdychiv ; † June 4th 1962 in Moscow ) was a Russian architect and university professor .
Life
Kornfeld was trained as an architectural assistant and drawing teacher in the architecture department of the Kiev art school from 1909 to 1914 . In 1915 he began studying at the Art School at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Petrograd . After the October Revolution he studied 1921–1924 at the Higher Artistic-Technical Workshops in Moscow .
In the 1920s, Kornfeld was a proponent of constructivism . In 1925 he joined the Association of Contemporary Architects (OSA). 1826–1928 he was a member of the board of the Moscow Architectural Society. In 1927 he took part in the first OSA exhibition. In 1929 he became a member of the architectural consultants in union central soviet . In the 1930s he worked as an architect on the Unions cinema project . From 1934 he taught at the Moscow Architecture Institute .
Kornfeld's urn was buried in the columbarium of the Donskoi cemetery .
