James McCartney

James Louis McCartney (born September 12, 1977 in London ) is a British musician . He is the only son of Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney . His siblings are Mary (born August 28, 1969), Stella (born September 13, 1971) and Linda McCartney's daughter Heather (born December 31, 1962) from his first marriage, who was adopted by Paul McCartney, and the daughter of Paul McCartney and his second wife, Heather Mills Beatrice Milly (October 28, 2003).

Life

James McCartney spent most of his youth in Rye , where he went to school at Thomas Peacocke Community College. He then reached an advanced level at Bexhill College in 1995 .

In May 1997, the Paul McCartney album Flaming Pie was released , on which James McCartney plays guitar under the title Heaven on a Sunday . On April 17, 1998 his mother Linda McCartney died, on March 18, 1998 she had still recorded the song The Light Comes from Within , in which James McCartney plays guitar. The song was released on the album Wide Prairie . In November 2001 Paul McCartney released his album Driving Rain , which contains the two collaborative compositions Spinning on an Axis and Back in the Sunshine Again by Paul and James McCartney. James McCartney played percussion (Spinning on an Axis) and guitar (Back in the Sunshine Again) when recording the pieces .

On November 14th, 2009 James McCartney and his band Light had his first appearance in the USA at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center in Fairfield ( Iowa ).

He released his first studio recordings in September 2010 as a download , five songs on an EP entitled Available Light . Producers of the songs were Paul McCartney and David Kahne , who had produced the Paul McCartney albums Driving Rain and Memory Almost Full . Another EP, entitled Close at Hand with six songs, was released in August 2011. In November 2011 (Europe: January 2012) were the eleven songs with five bonus tracks on a double CD under the name The Complete EP Collection published . In October 2012 James McCartney played the songs Angel , My Friend and the Rolling Stones song Gimme Shelter in the former English record factory in Hayes ( London Borough of Hillingdon ), where the Beatles single Love Me Do was made 50 years earlier .

In May 2013 the album Me by James McCartney was released, it contains twelve songs, which in turn were produced by David Kahne. Paul McCartney plays guitar and drums on the album and took over the background vocals, on which songs he participated is not listed in the CD booklet. From April 2013 McCartney went on a US tour.

On the Paul McCartney tribute album The Art of McCartney (November 2014), James McCartney contributed The Cure to the Beatles song Hello, Goodbye .

The follow-up album The Blackberry Train , produced by Steve Albini and arranged by James McCartney and Youth , contains eleven songs and was released in May 2016. Dhani Harrison played guitar on the track Too Hard . The song Waterfall pays homage to Linda McCartney. Another USA tour followed in May / June 2016.

Private

James McCartney, like his father , follows a vegetarian diet and is committed to animal rights .
