Jamie Nicholls (born July 21, 1993 in Bradford ) is a British snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Nicholls has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2006 . He won his first victories in the 2006/07 season in the British Orange AIM Series and the British Snowboard Tour. He contested his first FIS World Cup race in October 2008 in London , which he finished in 71st place in Big Air. In November 2008 he won the Burton AM Tour in Bispingen and Castleford . In the 2010/11 season he took second place in Railjam at the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour in Munich , third place in slopestyle at Burn River Jump in Livigno and first place at Ride Shakedown in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He finished the season in 26th place in the World Snowboard Tour overall ranking. At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo he finished 29th in Slopestyle. In November 2012 he came third in slopestyle at the O'Neill Pleasure Jam in Schladming . At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , he achieved 14th place in Slopestyle. In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he reached sixth place in slopestyle. After 12th place in slopestyle at the World Cup in the Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang and fourth place in slopestyle at the Spring Battle Flachauwinkl , he won his first World Cup victory in Špindlerův Mlýn in March 2016 and came fifth in the Slopestyle World Cup at the end of the 2015/16 season . In the 2016/17 season he made it into the top ten three times in ten World Cup appearances. He achieved second place in slopestyle on the Alpe di Siusi and third in Špindlerův Mlýn and thus reached 11th place in the Freestyle World Cup and second place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he came in 48th place in Big Air and 36th place in Slopestyle.

In 2010, Nicholls was British champion on the halfpipe and in slopestyle. In March 2012 he won the British Slopestyle Championships.
