Flachauwinkl is a place in the Ennspongau in the state of Salzburg . It belongs to the municipality of Flachau in the St. Johann (Pongau) district .

Flachauwinkl in the morning

The place is located about 16 kilometers southeast of St. Johann and 11½ km southwest of Radstadt . It is located in the rear Flachau valley of the Radstädter Tauern , from Flachau into the valley, at about 950 m above sea level. A. Height. In the local area, the young Enns (from the Enns source ) and the Pleißlingbach (from the valley floor of the Flachau valley) meet .

history

In the Winkel , the Hintertal of Flachau , around 15 original farms are occupied in the 15th century (Gindl, Hinteres-, Vorderes Ennslehen , Hinter-, Vorderrohr, Ketzerlehen, Knoller, Kohlmais, Madau, Maierl, Rab, Schaup, Steinfeld, Stumpf, Walchau , Wieslbauer). Until the construction of the Tauern motorway (opening of the Tauern tunnel in 1975) there was little more, then local development begins. At that time, the connection to the Zauchensee ski area, which was founded in 1964 , is now part of the Ski amadé network as the Zauchensee – Flachauwinkl ski paradise .
