Jan Becker (born June 29, 1973 in Münster ) is a German actor .

Life

Becker was born in Hiltrup in North Rhine-Westphalia and grew up with his twin sister in a children's home . He has three other siblings. After his technical college entrance qualification he attended the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule , a professional academy for performing arts in Munich, from 1995 to 1999 .

Then he began to work as a theater actor a. a. in Mainz , Frankfurt am Main , Hamburg , Hanover , Lübeck , Bielefeld and Berlin . He plays a broad repertoire on the theater stage that includes dramas by German-speaking authors of the Classical and Romantic periods, but also plays from the turn of the century, modern and contemporary theater such as B. the manufacturer Sigismund Sülzheimer in the piece Im white Rößl . To this day he regularly performs the one-stroke instrument The Double Bass by Patrick Süskind .

He played one of his first television roles in 1999 alongside Robin Williams and Armin Mueller-Stahl in a remake of the novel " Jakob the Liar " as a German soldier. He became known nationwide as Oberleutnant Deffke in the ZDF television series Die Rettungsflieger , a role that Becker played from 2005 to 2007.

Becker lives and works in Berlin and Lübeck as a director and acting and language coach. He has a son and a foster daughter who both live in Hamburg. Jan Becker has been in a relationship with communication designer and photographer Jacqueline Nolting since 2019 .
