Jan Rajevski (born September 19, 1987 ) is an Estonian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Trelleborgs IF in Swedish Division 3 since 2009 . His brother Mark Rajevski plays the goalkeeper position and is also an Estonian international.

Career

Club

Jan Rajewski began his career as an ice hockey player in his Estonian homeland with the Tallinn Stars , with whom he immediately became Estonian champions in his first year in the Meistriliiga . He also played individual games for Kohtla-Järve Viru Sputnik . In 2005 he moved to Estonia to continue his education in the local "Daugavpils Ledus Skola", for which he also played in the Latvian U-18 league. He then played in 2006/07 for the Tallinna Eagles .

When, in 2007, the Tartu Big Diamonds, an Estonian team for participation in the Latvian Ice Hockey League , was founded, the striker signed a contract there. But after a year the project had to be abandoned for financial reasons and Rajevski switched to the Finnish fourth division club ValKi. From 2009 he played for the lower class Swedish club Varberg HK , which he led in 2011 from the fifth class division 3 to division 2. After moving up again, now to Division 1 , he left Varberg in 2014 and moved to Trelleborgs IF in Division 3 .

International

For Estonia, Rajevski took part in the junior division in Division II of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 as well as Division I of the U20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2007 and Division II of the U20 World Junior Championships in 2006 .

He made his debut for the men's national team at the World Cup Division I in 2008 , where the Estonian team suffered relegation after a 2-1 penalty shoot-out against Croatia . Rajevski did not experience his next World Cup participation until 2013 , when the Estonians - after being promoted again in the meantime - relegated again from Division I. Even his goal in the first third of the interim 1-1 in the decisive game against the Lithuanians could not prevent the clear 3:12 defeat.
