Jan Marek Szymański (born March 2, 1989 in Poznan ) is a Polish speed skater .

Career

Szymański made his debut in the World Cup in January 2009 in Erfurt and took 14th place over 5000 m in Division B. His first individual race in the A World Cup he ran at the beginning of the 2010/11 season in Heerenveen , which he placed in 16th place finished over 5000 m. At the individual distance world championships in 2011 in Inzell , he achieved 11th place over 5000 m and eighth place in the team pursuit. In the 2011/12 season he came in the top ten several times in the mass start and thus reached ninth in the mass start World Cup. At the individual distance world championships in Heerenveen in 2012 , he finished 14th over 5000 m and eighth place in the team pursuit. The following season he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup in Erfurt with third place in the team pursuit.
