Jana Dobešová

Jana Dobešová (born August 6, 1968 in Přerov ) is a Czech table tennis player who was active in the 1990s and 2000s. She took part in eight world championships and the 1996 Olympic Games .

Career

In the Czech extra league Dobešová went to for the TJ Vítkovice, later for the SK Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. In 1993 the women of the TJ Vítkovice (Dobešová, Hrachová , Chvátalová) became Czech national champions.

Jana Dobešová won her first individual title in December 1992 at the last championship of the ČSFR . In 1994, 1995 and 2001 Dobešová won the Czech championship in singles. In 1994 she also won the doubles title with Alena Vachovcová and mixed titles with Josef Braun. In mixed with Radek Košťál, she was again Czech champion in 1999.

From 1993 to 2006 she took part in eight world championships , but never came close to medal ranks. In 1996 she qualified for the individual competition at the Olympic Games . In Atlanta she won against Blanca Alejo (Dominican Republic), but lost to Irina Palina (Russia) and Chire Koyama (Japan) and was eliminated.

In 1992 she made her debut at a European table tennis championship; the team (Hrachová, Dobešová, Mihočková, Pěluchová, Poliačková) dropped out after the group stage. In 1994 she secured promotion to the elite division with the team (Suchanková, Dobešová, M. Šopová, A. Vachovcová). At the European Championships in 1996 she played both in the team (Dobešová, Pěluchová, Plachá, Vachovcová, Štrbíková) as well as in singles, but did not reach any medals. Likewise, their participation in the European championship in 1998 went ; in individual she was eliminated in the round of 16 and with the team (Dobešová, Valentová, Štrbíková, Štěpánková) after the group games. At the European Championship 2003 she came with the team (Štrbíková, Dobešová, Vachovcová, Vacenovská , Smištíková) to the second round. At the 2007 European Championship , the Czech women's team (Štrbíková, Vacenovská, Dobešová, Pěnkavová ) was eliminated in the second round.

Jana Dobešová also played for several German clubs in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1991 she moved from the Vitkovice Ostrava club to TTC Langweid , with whom she became champion of the 2nd BL Süd in 1992 and which she then left for Belgium. In 1994 she joined the SV Casino Kleinwalsertal , coming from SKST Bratislava . Here, too, she contributed to achieving first place in the 2nd BL South. She later played for TSV Schwabhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga and was committed in 2005 by TTC Femont Röthenbach (since 2007 TTC Optolyth Optik Wendelstein ), where she stayed until 2009.

From 2008 Dobešová worked for two seasons as national coach of the Czech junior team, in November 2010 she was replaced by Marie Hrachová. She then took on a position at the training center in Köping as national trainer for the Swedish table tennis association.

In 2000, Dobešová was named table tennis player of the year in the Czech Republic.
