Band history
Jansen & Kowalski have been musically active together since the mid-1990s in the Hamburg scene band "Klaus Kinski Band", which was dedicated to the genres of blaxploitation and soul jazz . In 2004 the two formed their own band and released their first single Action . Together with Das Bo came the third single How cool is that? (Big offer) , for which Bernd Possardt shot the music video. In addition, shortly after they were founded, they were hired to support 2raumwohnung and Seeed . At the Bundesvision Song Contest 2005 , Jansen & Kowalski took 13th place for Saxony-Anhalt with the title Mamacita , the band's second single. On August 15, 2005, they released their debut album Action on Universal Music , which was mixed by Andreas Herbig ( Fettes Brot , Busta Rhymes , July , Reamonn ) and on which, in addition to Das Bo, Philipp von Deichkind also contributed as features. They demanded from their music: "We're about a new kind of pop song: innovative and fresh, hip and of course for the ladies too ... Honest stuff that takes off your shoes and doesn't come across like sucked chewing gum." For Dendemanns 2006 released album Die Pfütze des Eisbergs Jansen & Kowalski produced some beats. In the meantime, the two musicians parted ways.
