Janusz Skowron (born May 23, 1957 in Warsaw ; † February 28, 2019 ) was a Polish jazz musician ( piano , synthesizer ).

Act

Skowron, who was blind and learned to play the piano in the blind school in Laski , belonged to Kazimierz Jonkisz's quintet from 1979 , from 1981 as a founding member of String Connection , with whom he also recorded and played international concerts until 1984. He also worked with Zbigniew Wegehaupt. From 1985 he was a member of Tomasz Stańkos Freelectronic , with which he toured internationally and recorded an album at the Montreux Jazz Festival . He also accompanied Ewa Bem and Zbigniew Namysłowski . He can also be heard as a synthesizer on Stańko's album Roberto Zucco (1996) and as a keyboardist with Bill Evans , David Gilmore and Victor Bailey in the International Quintet ( In On ). He also worked with Antymos Apostolis , Zbigniew Lewandowski, Zbigniew Jaremko and Maciej Sikała. With the fusion band Walk Away he has performed with Bill Evans, Eric Marienthal and Randy Brecker since the late 1990s . He later accompanied the singer Małgorzata Markiewicz and since 2009 has been part of String Connection again .
