Javier Moreno Bazán (born July 18, 1984 in Jaén ) is a Spanish cyclist .
Career
Javier Moreno won a stage at the Vuelta a Tenerife in 2005 and he won the overall ranking of the Vuelta a Córdoba. He later became the Spanish champion in the U23 road race. In 2006 he drove for Grupo Nicolas Mateos , where he was unsuccessful. In 2007 Moreno was under contract with the Spanish Continental Team Extremadura-Spiuk , where he won part of the Vuelta a Madrid .
In 2008 Moreno switched to the Professional Continental Team Andalucía-Cajasur , for which he also did his first big tour of the country, the Vuelta a España . He reached the 21st place in the overall ranking. In 2009 he achieved third place in the overall classification of the Vuelta a Asturias . In 2011 he switched to the Professional Continental Team Caja Rural , for which Moreno won the Vuelta a Asturias.
From 2012 to 2016 he drove for the Movistar team . In 2012 he finished eighth in the Tour Down Under and won the Vuelta a Castilla y León . He was also able to win the team time trial of the Vuelta a España with the Movistar team . A year later he reached second place overall at the Tour Down Under and also won the mountain classification . In May 2013 he won a stage of the Vuelta a Asturias , which he finished in third place in the final ranking. In 2014 Moreno came second in the Tour of Austria . He also won the team time trial again with the Movistar team at the start of the Vuelta a España . In February 2015 Moreno won the time trial of the Vuelta a Andalucía .
In 2017 he moved to Bahrain-Merida . At the Giro d'Italia 2017 , he was disqualified against Diego Rosa due to a physical attack on the fourth stage . According to Rosas, Moreno pushed him off the street. TV footage shows Moreno holding on to Rosa and possibly spitting on her. Moreno declined to comment.
