Thomas James "Jay" Feely (* 23. May 1976 in Odessa , Florida ) is a former American American football - and arena football poker players on the position of the Kickers . He played in the NFL from 2001 to 2014 .

Early years

Feely attended Jesuit High School in Tampa , Florida. In addition to American football, he also played soccer here . From 1995 to 1998 he attended the University of Michigan . Here he scored 20 of 26 field goals and 43 of 44 point after touchdowns .

Arena football

After Feely was not selected in the 1999 NFL Draft , he joined the Florida Bobcats in the Arena Football League (AFL). After one season he moved to Tampa Bay Storm, which also play in the AFL.

Atlanta Falcons

On April 12, 2001 Feely signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons . In his first season, he scored 29 of 37 field goals and converted all 28 PAT's. Also in his second season he did his job well, which is why he stayed another season with the Falcons.

New York Giants

After his contract with the Atlanta Falcons expired, he signed with the New York Giants in 2005 . Here he stayed for two seasons.

Miami Dolphins

In 2007 he went to the Miami Dolphins , where he played the best season of his career. He only missed two of his 23 field goal attempts and scored all 26 extra points. After the season, the Dolphins changed hands. The new Dolphins Vice Chairman Bill Parcells disliked Feely's style and did not renew his contract as a result.

Kansas City Chiefs

Feely then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs , but was released only a day later.

New York Jets

After New York Jets ' kicker Mike Nugent was injured in the first week of the season, Feely got a contract with the Jets. On January 9, 2010 against the Cincinnati Bengals he shot his first punt , due to heart problems of the actual punter of the Jets, Steve Weatherford .

Arizona Cardinals

After two seasons, Feely went to the Arizona Cardinals . On December 12, 2010, Feely scored a touchdown against the Denver Broncos . He is only the fourth kicker in the NFL to have succeeded. He also scored 5 field goals in the same game, his career best. He also managed a field goal from 61 yards in the 2012 season, which is also his career best. On August 25, 2014, he was released from the Cardinals.

Chicago Bears

He signed a contract with the Chicago Bears , where he only played one game.
