Jean-Guy Couture
Jean-Guy Couture (born May 6, 1929 in Saint-Jean-Baptiste ) is former bishop of Chicoutimi .
Life
Jean-Guy Couture was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Québec on May 30, 1953 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Hauterive on June 21, 1975 . The Archbishop of Québec, Maurice Cardinal Roy , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Guido Del Mestri , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Canada , and Gilles Ouellet PME , Archbishop of Rimouski .
He was appointed Bishop of Chicoutimi on April 5, 1979, and was introduced to the office on June 5 of the same year. On June 19, 2004, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
