Jean-Paul Van Bellinghen

Jean-Paul Van Bellinghen (born October 21, 1925 - December 5, 1993 ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

Jean-Paul Van Bellinghen joined his country's diplomatic service in 1958 and became an attaché in Cairo . In 1960 he was at the UN headquarters and from 1961 to 1962 in Washington .

Until 1965 he and Jean van den Bosch propagated the Air Union as a European aviation cartel.

From April 2, 1975, Van Bellinghen was office manager of Foreign Minister Renaat Van Elslande and declared that the Belgian government would prefer the Dassault Mirage to the General Dynamics F-16 for an arms contract if the French government agreed to integrate it into the European aviation industry.

Until 1990 he was the Belgian ambassador to the United Kingdom.
