Jean Charles Émile Gardin CSSp (born October 28, 1941 in Saint-Pois ) is a French religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Impfondo .

Life

Jean Charles Émile Gardin joined the religious community of Spiritans , made his profession in 1969 and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on October 30, 2000 as the first Apostolic Prefect of Likouala . With the elevation of the prefecture to the diocese and the renaming on February 11, 2011, he was appointed the first bishop of Impfondo. The Archbishop of Kinshasa , Laurent Cardinal Monsengwo Pasinya , donated him episcopal ordination on March 26 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Stanislas Lalanne , Bishop of Coutances , and the Apostolic Nuncio in the Republic of the Congo , Archbishop Jan Romeo Pawłowski . The inauguration in the Diocese of Impfondo took place on April 10 of the same year.

On December 12, 2019, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
