Jean Pierre "JP" Kraemer (born September 12, 1980 in Plettenberg ) is a German presenter , entrepreneur and web video producer . He became known to a wider audience through the documentary soap Die PS-Profis - Mehr Power aus dem Pott, which has been broadcast since 2009 . With JP Performance Kraemer operates the most successful German-speaking YouTube channel in the automotive sector.

life and career

Jean Pierre Kraemer, JP for short, was born the son of a German and a Bahamian . He grew up in Dortmund and attended the Gartenstadt comprehensive school there, and today (as of 2020) he still lives in Dortmund. Even in childhood and youth, Kraemer was interested in improving machines and equipment.

After graduating from high school, Kraemer completed an apprenticeship as a car salesman at Porsche , and later became sales manager at Porsche tuner 9ff . In 2007 he founded together with Sidney Hoffmann , the Five Star Performance GmbH in Dortmund. Via a pilot film from Focus TV in 2009 they got their own docu-soap from German sports television (DSF, Sport1 since 2010 ) with Die PS-Profis - Mehr Power aus dem Pott , which was shot in the business and workshop rooms of the jointly run workshop. The business partners separated in 2012, and in May of the same year Kraemer founded the autowerkstatt JP Performance GmbH , which also offers car tuning. Together with Hoffmann and Tim Schrick , Kraemer conducted the DSF program Turbo - Das Automagazin from 2010 to 2012 , on VOX from October 2014 Kraemer and Hoffmann were seen as 2 professionals for 4 wheels . In spring 2016 and 2017, Kraemer reported live from the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring for RTL Nitro .

Kraemer has been running a YouTube channel called JP Performance since 2012 . In the spring of 2016, this was the most viewed German-language YouTube channel in the automotive sector.

In 2014 Kraemer won the bronze medal in the 1900 cm³ class as a participant in the TV total Stock Car Crash Challenge on ProSieben . Kraemer also took part in the 2015 Wok World Cup together with Hoffmann .

On June 24, 2016, the Sony Music Entertainment comedy label Spassgesellschaft! that Kraemer was signed as a comedian . His first tour, called PS: I love you , ran from November 2016 to May 2017. The arenas such as Dortmund's Westfalenhalle with around 9,000 spectators were almost sold out. The live shows were received by mixed media in the press.

On May 1, 2017 Kraemer announced in a YouTube video, among other things, the planned establishment of his own fast food restaurant called Big Boost Burger by JP Performance in July 2017 , which opened on August 21, 2017. The building also houses a showroom for various vehicles from Kraemer's fleet and a roller dynamometer.

In mid-November 2017, Kraemer announced that he had founded a racing team for the upcoming ADAC GT Masters season together with driver Lucas Luhr and Jan-Erik Slooten . In March 2018 the team name IronForce Racing was published; also the vehicle, a Porsche 911 GT3 R , presented in its final design. This collaboration ended at the beginning of 2020.

At the beginning of December 2017, Kraemer announced that he would be the importer of the US wheel manufacturer Rotiform Wheels with immediate effect . Since then, various Rotiform wheels, including parts certificates, have been offered for sale through JP Performance .

In June 2020, Kraemer caused a sensation because, according to the speedometer in one of his YouTube videos, he was driving through a town at a speed of 142 km / h. The video was taken offline a little later and uploaded again without this sequence. The public prosecutor's office in Siegen investigated suspected participation in a motor vehicle race . However, the proceedings were terminated.
