The Jeckenbach rises about 2 km west of Unterjeckenbach on the western flank of the Distelberg at an altitude of 446  m above sea level. NHN . The stream flows around the mountain in the south and then moves mainly in eastern directions. He passes the villages of Unterjeckenbach, Langweiler , Merzweiler , Kappeln , Löllbach , Jeckenbach and Breitenheim . On the southern outskirts of Meisenheim the Jeckenbach flows on the right at 148  m above sea level. NHN in the Glan.

On its 20.4 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of 298 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 14.6 ‰. The catchment area has a size of 66.786 km² and is drained to the North Sea via Glan, Nahe and Rhine .
