Yegor Evgenjewitsch Shastin ( Russian Егор Евгеньевич Шастин ; born September 10, 1982 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in the Vysschaja Hockey League .

Career

Yegor Shastin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK Awangard Omsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the super league in the 1998/99 season . He gave one assist in a total of eight games. In the following years, the attacker, who was active for Awangard's second team in the third-class Perwaja Liga from 1998 to 2000 , was regularly used for Awangard's professional team in the Superliga and was runner-up with his team in the 2000/01 season . Only in the playoff final did he and his team have to admit defeat to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the best-of-seven series with 2: 4 wins.

The 2002/03 season spent Schastin the HC Ambri-Piotta in the Swiss National League A . For this he scored three goals and assists in a total of 47 games. He also came to two missions for HC Sierre in the National League B , in which he scored a goal. At the end of the season he played four games for the second team of his ex-club Awangard Omsk in the Pervaya League. In the 2003/04 season he played for HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Super League. The following season he started at his ex-club Awangard Omsk and finished it at SKA Saint Petersburg .

The 2005/06 season spent Shastin at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the super league, before he moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod from the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, shortly before the end of the season. With his new club he reached promotion to the super league as a second division champion in the 2006/07 season . After another year in the super league, the former junior international has been on the ice for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the newly established Continental Hockey League since the 2008/09 season . Following the 2010/11 season , his contract was not renewed. At the end of October 2011 he was committed for the remainder of the 2011/12 season by HK Lada Tolyatti from the second-rate Wysschaja Hockey League .

International

For Russia , Schastin took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2001 . He was particularly convincing at the U18 World Cup in 2000, where he and his team won the silver medal. He was both top scorer and top scorer of the tournament with seven goals and four assists in six games. He was also voted the best striker of the U18 World Cup.
