Jekaterina Alexandrovna Ektova ( Russian Екатерина Александровна Эктова , English transcription Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Ektova ; born August 30, 1992 in Petropawl ) is a Kazakh long and three-jumper .

Career

Yekaterina Ektowa gained her first international experience at the 2007 Youth World Championships in Ostrava , where she was eliminated with 11.88 m in qualification. Two years later she was fourth in the triple jump at the youth world championships in Brixen with 13.36 m and was eliminated in the long jump competition with 5.75 m in the qualification. In 2010 she was at the Junior Asian Championships in Hanoi with 5.97 m and 12.88 m each fourth and thus qualified for the Junior World Championships in Moncton , where she was eliminated with 5.49 m and 12.74 m in the qualification. The following year she was at the Asian Championships in Kobe with 13.88 m sixth in the triple jump and at the Indoor Asian Championships 2012 in Hangzhou fourth with 13.05 m. In 2013 she reached the final at the Summer Universiade in Kazan , which she finished in tenth place with a width of 13.05 m. At the Indoor Asian Championships 2014 in Hangzhou, she reached eighth place with 12.38 m.

In 2016, she was tenth in the long jump at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha with 5.57 m and qualified in the triple jump for the first time for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated with 13.51 m in the qualification .

In 2018 Ektowa became the Kazakh champion in the long jump.

Yekaterina Ektowa is the sister of the triple jumper Jewgeni Ektow and the sister-in-law of Irina Ektowa , who is also active as a triple jumper. She graduated from North Kazakhstan State University.
