The Jelenka , also Městišťský potok (German Drosauer Bach or Dorrstadt Bach ) is a right tributary of the Úhlava in the Czech Republic .

course

The Jelenka rises in the desert Suché Studánky ( Brücklhöfe ) in the Bohemian Forest in a small pond. Its source lies at the northern foot of the Můstek ( Brückelberg , 1234 m nm) or northwest of the Jedlová ( high feathers ; 1177 m nm) in the Městišťské rokle nature reserve . The Šukačka rises 150 meters southeast of it, the Křemelná one and a half kilometers south . The stream flows on its upper course in a flat swampy valley first past the desert areas Suché Studánky and Schafhäuser to the northwest and then takes a northerly direction at the desert area Girglhof. At the eastern foot of the Velký Prenet ( Great Brennetberg , 1071 m nm) the Jelenka, which is also referred to here as Městišťský potok , falls through the Městišťské rokle ( Dorrstadtklamm ) and joins the Guntnerovy Dvory ( Güntnerhöfe ) north of the desert with its other source stream.

The second, much shorter, source stream of the Jelenka rises south of the Plošina ( plate ; 972 m nm) in the Köhlerwastl desert . It flows in a north-westerly direction past the Paseka ( wood felling) and Guntnerovy Dvory deserts through the Městišťské rokle nature reserve .

After the confluence of the two source streams, the Jelenka flows west of the Plošina via Městiště, Datelovský Mlýn and Datelov to the north. Along its course in the Strážovská vrchovina ( Drosauer Bergland ) follow Vaninský Dvůr, Oldřichovice, Divišovice, Bláhoský Mlyn and U Stojzů where the Jelenka east on Želivský vrch ( Timber , 770 m) flows past. Passing Patraska, Krotějov, Splž, Plázky, Červenný Mlýn, Na Strašidle, Zahorčice, V Loužku, Strážov , Opálka , U Traxlů and Malá Rovná, the stream reaches Rovná. There the Jelenka turns to the northwest and flows in numerous meanders through a wide meadow valley past Dvorecký Mlýn, Rameno, Ondřejovice, Harant and the Klenová castle ruins into the Janovický úval ( Janowitz Valley ). The lower course runs east of the former Janovice barracks area in two branches of the stream, which used to reunite in the city center, to Janovice nad Úhlavou . Today the canalised main arm of the Jelenka runs along the western outskirts of Janovice nad Úhlavou and flows into the Úhlava after 17.8 kilometers . The old stream runs past the former moated castle and the church - underground in the area of the market - through the city and flows into the Úhlava on the northwestern outskirts of the city .
