Elizaveta Ivanovna Kaminskaya-Dulskaja , born Elizaveta Ivanovna Kaminskaya , ( Russian Елизавета Ивановна Каминская-Дульская ; born April 17 . Jul / 29. April  1899 . Greg in Tomsk , † 28 February 1995 in Riga ) was a Russian - Soviet geologist and University professor .

Life

Kaminskaya studied in Tomsk at the Mining - Faculty of Siberian Technological Institute with completion in 1927 as surveyer . She then worked in the iron ore - prospecting in the Urals and in Siberia .

In 1934 Kaminskaja came together with her husband, the geologist Faddei Faddejewitsch Dulski (1900-1965), at the invitation of the Mining Administration of the Magnitogorski metallurgitscheski Kombat (MMK) to Magnitogorsk , where she worked as a petrograph in the prospecting department and then became a senior geologist. In 1937 she took part in the 17th International Geological Congress in Moscow . In 1938 she and others organized the geological museum of the MMK mining administration, in which all ores and minerals of the Magnitogorsk Magnitnaya Mountain were presented and which was also visited by foreign delegations. During the German-Soviet war she became chief geologist in the prospecting department. She was in charge of prospecting deposits on Magnitnaya Mountain and in Maly Kuibas near Magnitogorsk. She discovered previously unknown laws in the geological structure of these deposits. She identified the specifics of the ores that were important for MMK production. Her work was influenced by Alexander Nikolajewitsch Sawarizki and Dmitri Sergejewitsch Korschinski .

In addition to her work at the MMK, Kaminskaja taught geology and mineralogy together with her husband at the Magnitogorsk Mining Metallurgy Institute (MGMI, since 1998 Magnitogorsk State Technical University of Nossov (MGTU)), founded in 1934 . She was involved in founding the Laboratory for Petrography and Mineralogy. In 1947 she was the first woman from the MGMI to successfully defend her dissertation on the processes of mineral formation in the metamorphic contact zone of the Magnitnaja Mountain at the Lomonossow University Moscow (MGU) for her doctorate as a candidate in geological and mineralogical sciences. In 1963 she was the first woman to be appointed professor at the Chair of Geology and Mineralogy at MGMI. One of her students was German Borissowitsch Ferschtater .

In 1970 Kaminskaya retired.
