Jemaine Clement (born January 10, 1974 in Masterton ) is a New Zealand musician, actor, director, producer, comedian and author.

Life

Clement describes himself as "half Māori, half European" and spent his formative years in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand.

Clement is known as one of the two members of the comedy band Flight of the Conchords . He trained this at Victoria University together with Bret McKenzie . The band has been on international tours and released four CDs: Folk the World Tour (2002), The Distant Future EP (2007), Flight of the Conchords (2008) and I Told You I Was Freaky (2009).

From 2007 to 2009, Clement starred in the HBO comedy series Flight of the Conchords , which describes the fictional life of the New Zealand folk duo in New York . As an actor, screenwriter and singer, he was then honored with four Emmy nominations.

In 2012 he played the antagonist Boris the Beast in Men in Black 3 .

Clement interpreted the song Shiny for the soundtrack of the computer animation film Vaiana . For this single he was awarded a platinum record in the USA and a silver record in the UK.
