Jennifer Cross (born July 4, 1992 in Scarborough , Ontario ) is a Canadian volleyball player .

Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Cross initially played ice hockey at a competitive level , but changed sport at the age of 16 and has been a volleyball player ever since .

She began her career on the volleyball team at the American University of Michigan , where she was active until she graduated from college in 2014. This was followed by a move to the Swedish first division club Engelholms Volleybollsällskap , for which the native Canadian played in the 2014/15 season and with whom she won the Swedish championship in 2015.

In June 2015, the middle blocker moved to Dresdner SC , where she became the third middle blocker in the Bundesliga team alongside the new signings Kathleen Slay and Whitney Little . In her first season, in which she scored 35 block points in 19 championship games, she was German champion and cup winner with the Dresdner SC . In May 2016, she extended her contract in Dresden by one year until 2017. In the 2016/17 season, Cross achieved third place in the championship standings with the Dresdner SC team. At the beginning of May 2017, the association announced that the expiring contract of Jennifer Cross - as well as the contracts of Barbora Purchartová , Lucie Smutná , Brittnee Cooper and Jocelynn Birks - would not be extended.

In the 2017/18 season Cross played for the Hungarian club UTE Profisport Szolgáltató and was third in the championship with the club. Then she moved to VC Maritza in Bulgaria. With the club she won the Bulgarian double in the 2018/19 season, consisting of championship and cup victory.

National team

Jennifer Cross has been a selection player for the Canadian Women's National Volleyball Team since 2011

and acted as team captain at the 2018 Women's Volleyball World Cup in Japan .
