Jenni Zylka
Jenni Zylka (born May 6, 1969 in Osnabrück ) is a German writer , freelance journalist and presenter from Berlin . She has played the organ in the psychobilly band Sunny Domestozs since 1986 and was previously a member of Skaville Disease .
Life
After graduating from high school, Zylka moved to Berlin in 1988 . She studied linguistics , art studies and communication studies . In 1994 she trained as a sound engineer at the SAE Berlin .
Among other things, she writes as a music and film critic and columnist for taz , Tagesspiegel and Spiegel Online , moderates a literary program on WDR radio, works as a presenter and feature film watcher for the Berlinale , has written scripts since 2006 and is a member of the Grimme selection committee Price . She also appeared as a stand-up comedian in the early 1990s. In 2003 she published her first novel 1000 new things to do in weightlessness, which tells the humorous story of a media worker with ametropia in a big city. A year later, in Beat Baby, beat! the rise of an imaginary female instrumental band in Germany in the 1990s.
Since 2013 she has been teaching budding fashion journalists in creative writing and journalism at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Berlin.
