Jerry Butler (born on May 13, 1959 in Brooklyn , New York City ; died on January 27, 2018 ; actually Paul David Siedermann ) was an American porn film actor .

Life

Butler grew up in Brooklyn as the son of a Jewish father and mother with half of German-Irish roots and half of Cherokee . His paternal grandfather is said to have been Leon Trotsky's half-brother .

Butler first tried his luck as a mainstream actor on off-Broadway . He studied with James Beard at the Neighborhood Playhouse. He also appeared on several occasions in 1978 as a guest in the soap opera Love, Lies, Passion and had a brief appearance in the film Basket Case - The Eerie Twin (1982). He was feeling a lot of pressure at that time, in particular he refused to sleep with other men at one point in order to get better roles. At the time, the cast couch was at its peak.

He came to hardcore porn in 1981 after an advertisement in Backstage magazine. Originally, he wanted an acting role, but was then cast as a porn actor. He took his pseudonym Jerry Butler when he cashed his first paycheck. Here ran Only the Strong Survive by Jerry Butler on the radio. His most successful films include Roommates (1981) and In Love ( 1983). For the latter, he was named best adult actor by Hustler magazine . In 1985 he received the AFAA Award and the XRCO Award for Best Actor for his participation in the film Snake Eyes. He is also a member of the AVN Hall of Fame . In total, he appeared in more than 500 porn films. The Internet Adult Film Database lists 666 films, including numerous compilations.

In 1989 he published his biography Raw Talent , named after one of his greatest achievements , in which he settled accounts with both the porn film industry and the mainstream film and theater industries. He also published information about the excessive drug use in the industry in the 1980s, in which he also outed some colleagues as drug addicts. Some of those portrayed, including Ron Jeremy , expressed displeasure with the way she portrayed Butler.

Due to the biography he lost many role offers. He continued in the business until 1993, but then moved back to Brooklyn where he worked as a school bus driver.

He had one last appearance in 2003 in Sexy Sluts: Been There Done That , a porn by rapper Necro .

Butler fell ill with a tumor in 2017 that had to be surgically removed. A little later he had a bicycle accident and routine tests found that the cancer had spread throughout his body and was now inoperable. He died on January 27, 2018 at the age of 58.

Private life

Jerry Butler was married to Lisa Loring . The couple met on the set of a porn movie, but Loring disapproved of Butler's lifestyle. Butler kept her from hiding further appearances in porn films. The couple had a public debate on Sally Jesse Raphael's talk show . In 1992 there was a divorce. After exiting the porn industry, Butler remarried.
