Jesús Esteban Catalá Ibáñez (born December 22, 1949 in Villamarchante , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Málaga .

Life

Jesús Esteban Catalá Ibáñez received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Valencia on July 3, 1976 .

On 25 March 1996 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Urusi and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Valencia. The Archbishop of Valencia, Agustín García-Gasco Vicente , gave him episcopal ordination on May 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Barcelona , Cardinal Ricardo María Carles Gordó , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Lajos Kada .

On April 27, 1999, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Alcalá de Henares . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Málaga on October 10, 2008. The inauguration took place on December 13 of the same year.
