Juan Antonio Reig Plà
Juan Antonio Reig Plà (born July 7, 1947 in Cocentaina , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Alcalá de Henares .
Life
Juan Antonio Reig Plà received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Valencia on July 8, 1971 .
On February 22, 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Segorbe-Castellón de la Plana . The apostolic nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Lajos Kada , donated him episcopal ordination on April 14 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Barcelona , Cardinal Ricardo María Carles Gordó , and the Archbishop of Valencia, Agustín García-Gasco Vicente .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Cartagena on September 24, 2005 . The inauguration took place on November 19 of the same year. On March 7, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. to the Bishop of Alcalá de Henares.
For his episcopal coat of arms, he chose a passage from the hymn Ave maris stella as the motto . The first line of the fourth stanza “Monstra te esse matrem” means in translation: “Show yourself as mother”.
