Yevgeny Bulanchik

Evgeni Bulantschik , Russian Евгений Буланчик (born April 3, 1922 in Horlivka ; † 1996 ) was a Ukrainian hurdler who competed for the Soviet Union. In 1954 he became European champion on the 110-meter course .

At the European Athletics Championships in Brussels in 1950 , he won his run in 14.8 seconds. In the final he was sixth and last in 15.2 seconds. In Helsinki at the Olympic Games in 1952 , he was the only European to reach the finals and finished fourth behind three Americans in 14.5 seconds; Harrison Dillard was the winner in 13.7 seconds. In 1954 at the European Championships in Bern , he won in 14.4 seconds ahead of the British Jack Parker and the German Berthold Steines .

From 1948 to 1955 he was Soviet champion eight times in a row. In 1952 he set his best time with 14.1 seconds.

Yevgeny Bulantschik was 1.84 m tall and weighed 80 kg in his active time.
