The Jezioro Bobięcińskie Wielkie (German Great Papenzin Lake , Kashubian Jezoro Bòbiecyńsczè Wiôldżé ) is a Pomeranian inland lake in the Pojezierze Bytowski ("Bütower Lake District") in the eastern part of the Pomeranian Lake District . The lake belongs to the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Jezioro Bobięcińskie Wielkie is located at 176.4 meters above sea level in the city triangle of Bobolice ( Bublitz , 14 km), Biały Bór ( Baldenburg , 10 km) and Miastko ( Rummelsburg , 10 km). It can be reached via two secondary roads, those from Żydowo ( Sydow ) on Voivodeship Road 205 via Bobięcino ( Papenzin ) to Wołcza Wielka ( Groß Volz ) and from Wołcza Wielka via Sępolno Wielkie ( Groß Karzenburg ) to Drzewiany ( Drawehn ) and Biały Bór ( Baldenburg ) on state roads 20 and 25 .

There is a rail link via the Biały Bór or Miastko stations on the Piła – Ustka railway line ( Schneidemühl – Stolpmünde ).

The name-giving place for the 5.246 km² large lake - and also for the northeastern Jezioro Bobięcińskie Małe ( Little Papenzin Lake ) - is the small village Bobięcino ( Papenzin ) on the eastern shore of the lake. Before 1945 the place belonged to the district of Rummelsburg , but only two thirds of the lake area belonged to this district. The other third was in the area of the Schlawe district with Neuhof (now in Polish: Cybulin) on the south-west bank. Farmer Erich Manzke in Seehof (Olszynka) last owned the smaller Schlawer part with 198.2 hectares . The larger part of Rummelsburg was owned by the Hohenzollern family and the landlord Christian Hummel in Groß Karzenburg (Sępolno Wielkie), but leased to Erich Manzke in accordance with fishing law.

The Jezioro Bobięciński Wielkie at its maximum depth of 48 meters is of the boundary between the today provinces Pomerania and Zachodniopomorskie traversed. Three districts share the water: Powiat Bytowski ( Bütow district ) with the Gmina Miastko ( Rummelsburg ), Powiat Szczecinecki ( Neustettin district ) with the Gmina Biały Bór ( Baldenburg ) and Powiat Koszaliński ( Köslin district ) with the Gmina Bobolice ( Bublitz ).

The Jezioro Bobięcińskie Wielkie is one of the largest whitefish lakes in Pomerania, which is a special type of lake with the main features: short-haired and steeply sloping banks, great depth, sandy-stony bottom, rich oxygen content of the water and good formation of fish food. In addition to the whitefish , eel , pike and perch are found in the lake .
