Jinelle Lynn Zaugg-Siergiej , b. Zaugg , (born March 27, 1986 in Rockford , Illinois ) is a former American ice hockey player and current coach . Zaugg-Siergiej was a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team from 2006 to 2010 and won the silver medal at the 2007 World Cup and 2010 Winter Olympics . Career

Zaugg played during her high school time until 2004 at Northland Pines High School in Eagle River and for the Madison Capitals . She also played soccer . When she switched to college in the 2004/05 school year, the striker devoted herself fully to ice hockey. Parallel to her studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison , she played for the following four years for the local university team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . At the end of her sophomore year at the university, she won with the team both the championship of the WCHA and subsequently the national championship of the NCAA. Her achievements drew the attention of the US ice hockey association USA Hockey , which nominated her for the 4 Nations Cup 2006 for the first time for the women's national ice hockey team of the United States . During the 2006/07 season, the Wisconsin Badgers defended both titles they had won the previous year, after which they were nominated for the 2007 World Cup and won the silver medal there. In summer 2008 she finally successfully completed her studies.

The offensive player then switched to the professional field and joined the Minnesota Whitecaps from the Western Women's Hockey League for the 2008/09 season . They were also able to celebrate winning the championship with them at the end of the season. In the subsequent Clarkson Cup, however, the Whitecaps lost to the champions of the Canadian Women's Hockey League , the Stars de Montréal , with 1: 3. After further participation in the 4 Nations Cup in 2007 and 2009 , the striker , who went by the surname Zaugg-Siergiej after her marriage in June 2009, was recruited by USA Hockey for the 2009/10 season to focus on the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver prepare. After making the jump into the tournament squad, she celebrated winning the Olympic silver medal at the Winter Games. The 4 Nations Cup in 2010 was her last international tournament for their homeland.

After her officially announced end of her career in March 2011, Zaugg-Siergiej began her coaching activity. She initially worked at Arrowhead High School in Hartland , Wisconsin , until the summer of 2013 . She then filled the 2013/14 school year as an assistant coach at Robert Morris University in the state of Pennsylvania . The ex-player has been working in the same position at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota since the 2014/15 school year .
