Joachim Czichon (* 1952 in Pokój , Poland) is a German painter and sculptor .

  • 1972 Abitur at the Schiller-Gymnasium, Offenburg
  • 1973 to 1978 studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe with Herbert Kitzel . 1st state examination, then community service. Freelance work since then.
  • from 1976 onwards there was regular exhibition activity in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad
  • 1981 Scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation
  • 1991 Franz Joseph Spiegler Prize from the Schrade Gallery , Mochental Castle
  • 1996 Promotion Prize of the Lovis Corinth Prize of the Artists' Guild

Joachim Czichon is a member of the Artists Association of Baden-Württemberg and of the German Association of Artists. Since 2017 he has been living and working in a 500 square meter studio in Knittlingen / Enzkreis.

Joachim Czichon received public contracts throughout Germany. His works can be found in numerous companies, clinics and institutions. His latest art-in-building project is the "KIT-Icon" on the south campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Design of the sculpture for the Karlsruhe lecture "Open your mouth"

Since 1983 the Academy for Dental Training in Karlsruhe has organized the annual lecture "Open your mouth". In this context, important personalities from business, politics, science and journalism are awarded the "Open your mouth" prize, which has been designed by Joachim Czichon since 2001.

Design of the European Legal Award

In 2012 Joachim Czichon was chosen to design the Carl Heymann Prize -European Legal Award. In 2013 Robert Badinter received the first award in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt.
