Joanne Marie Kiesanowski (born May 24, 1979 in Christchurch ) is a former New Zealand cyclist who was successful on the road and track .

Athletic career

From 2001 Joanne Kiesanowski was internationally active as a cyclist. In 2003 she became New Zealand road racing champion. In the following year she started at the Olympic Games in Athens in the street race and finished 17th; at the Oceania Games in Melbourne , she won the silver medal in scratch on the track. In 2006 and 2007 she was national champion in points driving .

In 2008 Kiesanowski finished second in the overall ranking of the Tour de Bretagne , at the Olympic Games in Beijing 28th in the road race and eighth at the Road World Championships in Varese . At the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi , she won the silver medal in scratch and was sixth in the points race.

At the end of 2016, Joanne Kiesanowski ended her 16-year cycling career, during which she took part in three Olympic Games, 14 World Championships and three Commonwealth Games. She won a total of eight national titles on the road and rail.
