Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira

Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira (born December 4, 1878 in Vila Nova de Gaia , Portugal , † May 18, 1967 ) was Archbishop of Florianópolis .

Life

Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira received on 21 December 1901, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 2, 1914 appointed him Pope Pius X to the Bishop of Florianópolis. The cardinal vicar for the diocese of Rome , Basilio Pompili , donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of São Paulo , Leopoldo Duarte e Silva , and the Bishop of Ribeirão Preto , Alberto José Gonçalves . On January 17, 1927, Domingues de Oliveira became the first archbishop of Florianópolis as a result of the elevation of the diocese of Florianópolis.

Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira attended the first session of the Second Vatican Council .

On April 29, 1967, Oliveira was elected to the Academia Catarinense de Letras , Cadeira No. 22, succeeding Nereu Ramos .
