Jobst Christoph von Romans (* around 1588 , † 24. August 1660 in Dresden ) was a Electoral Saxon Oberforst- and game champion Erzgebirge and superintendent of customs duties and Saale - rafting .

Life

He came from an old Meißnian family , whose direct lineage began with the Chemnitz councilor Paul Romer , mentioned in a document in 1401, and had been associated with the Saxon mining industry since the 15th century through Martin Römer , mountain tenth man from Schneeberg . He was the son of the landowner Hans Christoph von Römer (around 1542–1588), landlord on Ober- Steinpleis , Marienthal , Weißenbrunn and Höchstädt , and his second wife Maria von Metzsch (around 1588 – after 1610).

Römer was the landlord of the Neumark estates (since 1636), Rauenstein in the Erzgebirge (since 1651) and Rehefeld in the Eastern Ore Mountains . He was a member of the “ Fruit Bringing Society ” under the name “The Cooling One ”.

In his first marriage, Römer married Maria Martha Rositzky von Kinsky († April 13, 1654), the daughter of the landlord Friedrich Rositzky von Kinsky , landlord of Bödelwitz , Grädel and Bottenkräh , and Martha von Hartitzsch ( Hartitzsch house in Weißenborn ). After their death he married Elisabeth von Loß († after 1660), the daughter of the electoral Saxon court judge Christian von Loß , landlord of Röhrsdorf and other estates, and Catharina von Kannewurff.
