Jochen Fischer (politician)

Jochen Fischer (born March 21, 1932 in Schweidnitz , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German local politician ( CSU ).

Career

Fischer attended secondary school from 1942. After fleeing from Silesia , he came to the Lower Bavarian village of Hirschbach . In 1946 he began an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Wacker Chemie in Burghausen . He also attended the college for chemistry. He then went to Sweden for a few years. In 1954 he joined Industrie-Chemie Thoma in Waldkraiburg . From 1959 to 1964 he was head of a chemical plant in Steinfort (Luxembourg). He returned to Waldkraiburg and was production manager at Lowi Chemie from 1964 . From 1974 to 1984 he was the manager of animal carcass recycling in St. Erasmus.

His political career began on January 1, 1966 when he joined the CSU. In the spring of 1966 he was elected as an assessor on the board of the CSU local association Waldkraiburg, and the following year he became local chairman. On October 1, 1978, he moved up to the Waldkraiburg City Council and in 1981 became spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group. In 1982 he also took on a mandate in the district council of the Mühldorf am Inn district . In October 1983 his local association nominated him as a candidate for the mayoral election in the spring of 1984, in which he prevailed in the runoff election with just under 50.53% of the votes against his competitor Günther Heubl. He stayed in office until spring 2002.

From July 1984 he was also a member of the “Environmental Protection” committee of the Bavarian City Council .
