Johan Bidstrup

Jens Carl Frederik Johan Bidstrup (born January 18, 1867 in Kangaatsiaq , † April 6, 1920 in Qassersuaq ) was a Greenlandic trade administrator and councilor .

Johan Bidstrup was the son of the Danish- born Udsteds administrator Carl Christian Bidstrup (1836-1893) and his Greenlandic wife Abigael Lassen (1839-1909). His nephew was the Provincial Councilor Knud Bidstrup (1907–?). Johan married on July 22, 1894 in Upernavik Agathe Lydie Karoline Magdalene Olsen (1869-1905), daughter of the Danish blacksmith Bendt Julius Ferdinand Olsen (1840–?) And his Greenlandic wife Louise Katrine (1837–1889). The marriage had five children:

  • Louise Lea Johanne Katrine Bidstrup married Petersen (1895–?)
  • Kristian Jørgen Aron Jens Bidstrup (1898–1900)
  • Daniel Jens Thomas Peter Bidstrup (1900–?)
  • Pouline Signe Cecilie Bidstrup married. Kleemann (1902–?)
  • Susanne Katrine Anna Bidstrup (1904–1905)

Like his father, Johan Bidstrup was Udsteds administrator. In 1917 he was in the North Greenlandic Provincial elected. He did not take part in the first three meetings, although he was only represented at the second by Tobias Heilmann . Finally, in 1920, during the current legislative period, he died of cancer at the age of 53.
