Johann Adam Groß the Elder

Johann Adam Groß the Elder (born December 11, 1697 in Winnenden , † October 2, 1757 in Königsbronn ) was, like Johann Adam Groß the Younger, a ducal architect and master builder under Carl Eugen von Württemberg . He built numerous buildings in Württemberg , including a. in 1748 the Protestant Michaelskirche Mönchberg ( Herrenberg ) and, from 1750, the current old town in Nürtingen with its plans .

  • around 1730: "Storchenhaus" at Marktstrasse 24 in Winnenden for Johann Hauber
  • 1735: The Neumühle in Winnenden-Birkmannsweiler was built for the widower and miller Johann Jakob Schurr (also known as Johann Jacob Schurrer), but has initials in the keystone that are associated with his brother-in-law Johann Adam Groß the Elder. During and after the Second World War, the plant was expanded, repaired and housed a grinding facility on four floors. The Neumühle has been a listed building since 1987.
