Johann Baptist Heinrich (born March 19, 1774 in Mainz ; † May 5, 1838 there ) was Lord Mayor of Mainz from 1837 to 1838.

The long-time friend of Franz Konrad Macké studied philosophy at the (first) Mainz University . But he had to leave the city because his father refused to take the oath on Napoleon . He became police superintendent in Speyer and rose to police director of the Donnersberg department in 1814 .
In 1817 he was appointed adjunct to the mayor in the city administration. During this time, he helped found the Mainzer Sparkasse in 1827.
On January 1, 1835, JB Heinrich was appointed civil registrar of the city of Mainz. He held the office of Mayor of Mainz in 1837 and 1838.
During his tenure, Bertel Thorvaldsen erected the Gutenberg monument .
JB Heinrich was a founding member of the Mainz Carneval Association in 1838 , and the first Mainz Rose Monday procession fell during his term of office.
During his tenure, he died of an illness.
His son was the well-known Mainz cathedral capitular, cathedral dean and vicar general Johann Baptist Heinrich
