Johann Bernhard von Höfer

Johann Bernhard Höfer , from 1769 von Höfer , (* September 1713 in Halberstadt ; † December 31, 1784 in Berlin ) was a Prussian colonel .

Life

Höfer joined the Prussian Army on October 18, 1730 as a bombardier in the artillery and was promoted to Second Lieutenant on May 24, 1741/1742 . His career continued and so he was on August 23, 1750/1753 to the first lieutenant , 1757 to the captain of the staff , on May 11, 1759 to the actual captain , on November 27 / December 1761 to the major , on May 20, 1772 to the lieutenant colonel and finally promoted to colonel on June 11, 1773. In February he received the 2nd artillery regiment as head of the regiment . On October 2, 1774 he became a knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

From his marriage to a born Eversmann from Berlin , Höfer had the son Bernhard Gustav Theodor and a daughter.

Already on November 11, 1769 Höfer was together with his son in the Prussian nobility raised .

Hofer had participated in all of Frederick the Great's campaigns . Despite a gunshot wound in the left chest, Höfer was 71 years old. He died in Berlin.
