Johann Christoph Kellner

Johann Christoph Kellner (born August 15, 1736 in Graefenroda , † 1803 in Kassel ) was a German organist and composer .

Life

Johann Christoph Kellner was born in 1736 as the son of the organist and composer Johann Peter Kellner . In 1754 he attended the Latin school in Gotha . From 1755 he lived again in Graefenroda , where he received instruction in typesetting for organ works, symphonies and concerts . That same year, Kellner began composing his first cantatas -Jahrgangs under correction of the Father.

In 1762 Kellner traveled through Germany and Holland and began the second year of cantatas in Gräfenroda in 1763 .

In 1764 he became organist in Kassel , from 1772 court organist and worked on numerous compositions ( chamber music , choir and organ ).
