Johann Christoph Wohler

Johann Christoph Wohler (* 1748 in Magdeburg ; † May 4, 1799 in Potsdam ) was a German sculptor who worked in Potsdam .

Life

Johann Christoph Wohler ("the elder") and his brother Michael Christoph Wohler (1754–1802, "the younger") apprenticed to their father and the brothers Johann David and Johann Lorenz Wilhelm Räntz , who had moved from Bayreuth to Potsdam . They had been active in Potsdam since 1769 and were involved in the latest sculptures in the New Palace and in numerous city buildings.
