Johann Georg Urbansky

Johann Georg Urbansky (also Johann George Urbansky ; Czech Jan Jiří Urbansky ; * 1675 in Kulm ; † 1738 ) was a Bohemian sculptor and alabaster carver who mainly worked in Silesia .

Life

Urbansky was a student of the sculptor Johann Brokoff in Prague from 1693 . Because of disputes with his teacher, he went to Bautzen in 1697 , where he received his apprenticeship certificate from Theodor Pausewein. From 1718 he is occupied in Breslau, where he worked with Franz Joseph Mangoldt and Johann Albrecht Siegwitz , among others .
